Smoke from Forest Fires

I woke to find so much smoke in the valley that I could not see the mountains... just like Los Angeles. Later in the day wind blew out most of it.

Reports are that there's a fire in northern New Mexico or maybe Trinidad, Colorado...

This weekend is Telluride's Balloon Fest. I didn't get up and into town by 7 am for it, but someone said it was cancelled because of high winds.

Tonight in town the balloons are lined up on Main Street and set up with their gas burners. I saw it last year. They call it "Balloon Glo."

Traffic Jam at Trout Lake

Today is graduation day for Telluride High School--all eleven graduates.

The news at Trout Lake: a traffic jam--50 cars parked on both sides of the dirt road around the lake, leaving a narrow space to drive through.

Subarus, Priuses, Jettas--from all over the country.

Signs say "Matt & Becky"--so tonight must be a rehearsal dinner for tomorrow's wedding.
